Jadie Douglass Reeves
Hello! My name is Jadie Reeves (they/she), and I’m a Chicago-based musician specializing in composition and vocal performance. Please explore my site for scores, performance recordings, and to learn more about me and my work :)
Updates & Upcoming:
This fall, I began master’s studies in composition at Roosevelt University, where I serve as the program’s graduate assistant. It’s already been such a joy to make music with my peers and to settle into the wonderful Windy City, and I’m incredibly excited to be a part of Chicago’s vibrant new music scene! Since moving in August, I’ve composed three new electronic/electroacoustic pieces, a chamber work to be premiered in February 2025 through RU’s Wind Chamber Competition, and began a few other commissions and personal projects. In October, Roosevelt’s Contemporary Ensemble premiered my arrangement of Lovesliescrushing’s “babysbreath” and “Ghosts That Swirl,” commissioned by the band’s vocalist, Dr. Melissa Arpin Duimstra. In the new year, I’ll complete commissions for the Young New Yorkers’ Chorus (2024–2025 Young Composers Competition) and vocalist Nathan Reynolds, an electroacoustic song cycle for trans and gender non-conforming vocalists, and various other projects.
