“Home” was composed for and premiered by City High School’s Jewel Tones at the class of 2019’s graduation ceremony (Grand Rapids, MI). It began with lyrics reflecting on the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, written in preparation for commencement and with my friends that I’d soon walk with in mind. The project helped me to remember that home is more than a physical place; it’s also found in meaningful, lasting relationships.
